Liberal Democrats have written to the District Auditor in an attempt to reveal the role of the recruitment agency hired for £50,000 to advise the County Council in selecting a new Chief Executive.

The letter, sent today calls for the District Auditor to investigate the input of the recruitment agency into the salary discussions and whether they had a part to play in awarding this inflated salary.

Group Leader Kathy Pollard said, 'we still don't know the full details of the appointment process. Although we welcomed the Audit Commissions report, there are still questions that have been left unanswered.

The public has a right to know the precise details of the recruitment process, and until the recruitment agency has been interviewed we will not know for certain.'
